XDV Examine App

This app used to work poorly but now it won’t work at all. Does not appear to support the Campark X40 anymore and I bought the cameras about a year ago.

I bought the action cam about a year ago and at the time the app worked fine, but just pulled the camera out for the first time in months and it quits every time I try to connect to the camera

This app has always been difficult to use. Coupled with a terribly translated “manual”, I’ve been frustrated with this purchase from the start. However, now the camera won’t even connect to my phone, forcing me to find a work around or lose my footage.

Read the instructions people… smh 🤦‍♂️

Probably the worst app I’ve ever used! Someone brought the camera set as a birthday gift for my son. Downloaded the app and with much difficulty got it to work. Then realized the wifi connection is very unstable (don’t even understand why wifi technology is used instead of Bluetooth connection, maybe the developers wanted connectivity over a longer range but the connection sucks…). After reading the comments realized if the “Local Network” option is turned on under the iPhone app settings I’m the connection becomes more stable. Did that and seemed to work. The still crashes every time a photo or video is deleted which is mind boggling. I hope the developer of this app fixes that. The app should constantly stay connected to the camera and should not crash.

Worthless app. Crashes all the time 100% crap This app is as cheap as the cameras. Sending the cameras back and just forking out the extra for GoPro.

It has bad Wi-Fi

I never write reviews. But this app is terrible. Does not connect, extremely glitchy, very bad usability. Completely ruins the product (which does take great pictures!)

This app doesn’t work at all. Customer support couldn’t even get this app to work.

I can’t delete the videos/pictures from the app on my phone. I can download them, but can’t delete them. As soon as I go to delete them the App crashes. My camera is full. The only other things I can think of doing is installing connecting it to the computer, but I lost the original connector. I’m going to try a regular Android USB although the one it came with to connect to the computer was different. It has two separate ports to connect to. I’m crossing my fingers! I’m also wondering if I can take the micro SD card that came with it out and upload that way. I’ll update with another review.

Cool camera, horrible app. I was able to connect to camera ok, but struggling with reviewing video on my phone and downloading BTW anyone who gives this app a 5 star review is being compensated quite well

Amazing camera! I know I already wrote an review but here’s another. Okay first of all. All of you people out there writing bad reviews because your camera doesn't work, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!! I mean come on?! you are voting this badly even though you don't know how to work it. Second thing, If you want a cheap GoPro that works great, buy this camera!! Such amazing quality for a sports camera! Is waterproof (with the case on) and portable. And finally, I would like to see you add a feature where if you connect the camera to the wifi, it will automatically use that camera for different apps. (That probably makes no sense but thats how i'm describing it lol.) Anyway, thank you for your time!!! Cya -aDAm ButLEr

This is the worst app I’ve ever used. Along with the explore one, you can’t even access your videos or download them from the app. DO NOT DOWNLOAD

Have a steady blue light but will not connect

Invested too much time trying to make this work. Ended up deleting it.

The developers must be half retarded to have built this trash app that doesn’t work, you have to use a usb cord connected to a computer to get your files transferred since these monkeys weren’t able to build a useable app

Nice cam, simple app to setup. Guess being a GenX helps. The instructions are not written in a meme or emoji so I guess some might have problem?? Great job XDV!!! I’m interested in your 360 camera. What is the stabilizing software like???

Better using a laptop or something to share your stuff with I hooked it up and then out of nowhere I wasn’t connected no more this app is booty disgusting waste of time

Oh my. Thank god for reviews. I was finally able to connect by reading a review and getting instructions from the reviewer NOT instructions from the camera manufacturer.

The app does not work and the camera is to confusing. Well played. Do not buy this.

I’ve worked in IT for about 20 years(not a boomer. GenX). This took me longer than necessary to get working on my iPhone. Like the other reviewer, downloading the app was easy. Connecting to the WiFi was easy. However, the App could not connect to the camera. Fix for iPhone only: within iPhone settings, scroll down to find the XDV App. In its settings, turn on Local Network. Done. Other phones may have something similar. So, if you run into the app not finding your camera, look for that other setting. Good luck. Once it is working, I recommend downloading any video to your phone, before trying to play it. The streaming takes longer to get the video ready to play, than it does to download, then play from the iPhone. Very short test video. Aside from the App, you can connect to a PC(probably Mac too), via USB. Then, Power the camera on. Select USB Mode. This method, you can simply use it as a flash drive to get to your pics and videos. 1-2 stars for setup difficulty(lack of instructions really). 4 stars for ease of use and quality of video. Not too bad. 5 stars for the design. Accessories. And operating system on the device.

Ok so the GoPro is cool and all but you can’t connect it to the app. If you try to connect it will just say “Connect over time! please make sure DV’s network is connected! Is there anyway someone can help or fix this problem? Does the GoPro even work? Or does it just show a video screen?

I got this camera and it does not connect to my WiFi. And you need to have a phone too. You could get a better camera for cheaper prices.

The app gives prompts in unintelligible English, does not connect to camera, and overall does nothing except switch to a couple menu screens...

Worked for me immediately. You do need to remember to connect your phone to the camera WiFi but that is the same for many other action cameras with this capability. 2 stars seems a bit harsh - it includes 1 star reviews from people who expected the WiFi to work underwater. Amazing value for less than $40 compared to GoPro or Garmin

This camera works well for the price point and has a great picture. But unfortunately, the app is made so poorly that it renders this camera almost instantly useless. The app continuously force closes and freezes and I’m currently unable to even download the videos to my phone because of it. There’s little to no support for the app and The UI is basic and slow. I’d steer clear of this and spend the extra cash on a camera with a decent app.

The dragonTouch I'm trying to download it from won't work and if it does it takes an hour to download a 18 minute video. Please do something about it, I'm being nice.

Moves a little slow, had to go back and read the directions, but I did get it to work. I have not used it yet, wish I had more choices for the mount. A little confusing to see how all the pieces work, nothing in the directions. I will get on youtube and find a video. You get what you pay for.

These XDV apps are all trash. Don’t waste any time trying to use them. They are simply junk. I give them no stars.

When you launch 🚀 this app it will pop up something on your screen. It will say allow or don’t allow. Click don’t allow Once you in the app connect the Camera (Dragon touch Version 3) it should work. But you will need good 😌 WiFi. because it might be glitchy

This app works amazing and is super easy to learn. You can control every setting and function of the camera from your phone, remotely. It works amazing, I just wish I could delete videos off the SD from the app. Before you guys write a bad review, give your phone to a half way competent person between the ages of 10 and 25 and they can set it up in seconds.

Very poor app. Won’t run on newest version of iOS. Constantly loses connection to camera. Will be returning dragon touch camera and going with a go-pro. You get what you pay for with this camera and app

It was connected and worked just fine the first time I installed the app. I was able to sign on the WiFi and see the live feed from my camera to the phone app. Now it just doesn’t connect no matter what! Can somebody throw out any advice? Google is not providing anything useful.

I had no trouble setting the camera up and connecting it to my phone. It may be because it’s 2020 and I have a iPhone 8, not a new one (iPhone 12 is new at this time). To me, the directions were straight-forward and simple. I have used a Go-Pro previously and believe this camera to be comparable. I find this camera to be of great value for the money and would highly recommend it to others.

Allowed location access, still getting error message “location authorization needed.” Can’t even make it past the first screen. Totally useless, makes me wish I hadn’t bought this camera

This is supposed to be the app for Campark action camera. But it does not connect. Instead it displays a badly translated “Out of time” which I guess means a timeout.

I got this camera and I’m trying to record in it but it doest show me the footage.

This camera is simply trash. It doesn’t work and wifi connection on it is a big simple. Do not support this brand. They are clearly in this to screw poor people.

I’m one of those guys that wants to play with my new toy before I even read the directions. I’ve seen bad reviews about the app and camera WiFi not working. I too had this problem but then I learned how to actually do it. You have to turn your camera’s WiFi on, then connect your phone to the camera’s WiFi, then you are connected and can use the app to remotely operate your camera functions and/or review your pictures/videos. Camera works super and tons of accessories.

The positives: This is my second Curve sports camera. My first one was left unused for 4 years and yet the battery did not die. Impressive. But it didn’t have wifi. The English manual is pretty good. The negatives: My latest one has wifi but it can’t connect to my phone wifi. The XDV app has no help page. The manual doesn’t explain how to use the XDV app. Also, the manual’s fonts for the illustrations are too tiny to be legible. Verdict: Overall for the price one can’t expect a GOPRO standard of operation but at least make it user friendly. Please don’t ignore our comments or I’ll warn others on my YouTube channel. Please be responsible for your product.

After connecting my action camera to my iPhone 11 WiFi, I was able to operate the camera through the app just fine. I am able to see the videos I recorded, but the videos would not play. I could hear the audio, but the video would not run. I tried the download function but the same thing. I also tried the share function but nothing happened.
